Handling and storage of 2-chloroethanol

Operation precautions: airtight operation, provide sufficient local exhaust. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operation rules. It is suggested that the operators should wear self-priming filter type gas mask (half mask), chemical safety glasses, work clothes against poison penetration and rubber gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Use explosion-proof ventilation system and equipment. Prevent vapor from leaking into the air of the workplace. Avoid contact with oxidants and alkalis. When handling, it should be light loading and unloading to prevent damage to the packaging and containers. Fire fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment of corresponding variety and quantity shall be provided. The empty container may contain harmful substances.

Storage precautions: store in cool, dry and well ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidant, alkali and edible chemicals, and mixed storage is not allowed. Explosion proof lighting and ventilation facilities are adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to produce sparks. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and appropriate materials.
